V2X acquires USD 265 million NASA contract

Partnerships

  • V2X, an aerospace and defense company, received a USD 265 million contract from NASA that will run until 2033. Under the contract, V2X will support NASA's astronaut training facility.

  • The contract requires V2X to ensure safe operations at NASA's Sonny Carter Training Facility in Houston where astronauts are trained for spaceflight missions. V2X would also provide technical hardware and software support for the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL).

  • The NBL would act as a training base for NASA's Artemis 2 mission, which is expected to launch in September 2025 . The spacecraft crew would undergo recovery mission exercises and training with a replica of the International Space Station.

  • Analyst QuickTake: V2X had previously worked with NASA in 2023 , where V2X had created a model replica of the Moon's bedrock surface for the NBL base to assist astronauts in simulated training for Moon missions, making this second occasion NASA partnered with V2X.
