Audi partners with Cerence to enhance infotainment systems with GenAI-powered voice assistant capabilities

Partnerships

  • Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, has partnered with Cerence, a developer of AI-based voice assistant technology for automobiles, to integrate ChatGPT into the infotainment systems of Audi vehicles and enhance their voice control capabilities.

  • The partnership will enable Audi drivers to access Cerence “Chat Pro,” an automotive-grade ChatGPT integration that is an extension of the Audi assistant. It will allow them to operate infotainment, navigation, and AC systems and access AI-based knowledge through ChatGPT using voice commands.

  • The integration will be available for around 2 million Audi models developed since 2021 and equipped with the third-generation modular infotainment system from July 2024.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Audi joins Cerence’s growing list of infotainment partnerships. In 2024, Cerence expanded its OEM customer base with notable automotive partnerships including Volkswagen , BMW , and Zeekr
