Audi, a subsidiary of Volkswagen Group, has partnered with Cerence, a developer of AI-based voice assistant technology for automobiles, to integrate ChatGPT into the infotainment systems of Audi vehicles and enhance their voice control capabilities.
The partnership will enable Audi drivers to access Cerence “Chat Pro,” an automotive-grade ChatGPT integration that is an extension of the Audi assistant. It will allow them to operate infotainment, navigation, and AC systems and access AI-based knowledge through ChatGPT using voice commands.
The integration will be available for around 2 million Audi models developed since 2021 and equipped with the third-generation modular infotainment system from July 2024.
