BASF, a leading chemical and material science company, has signed a seven-year agreement with a France-based global energy group, ENGIE, to receive ENGIE's biomethane.
This seven-year agreement allows ENGIE to provide BASF with 2.7 to 3.0 terawatt hours of biomethane, a sustainable alternative to fossil raw materials used in BASF’s manufacturing process at its Ludwigshafen and Antwerp sites, reducing BASF's carbon footprint offering its customers’ products with lower- or zero-carbon footprints.
