ZymoChem, a company creating chemicals from renewable sources, has announced the introduction of BAYSE, a super-absorbent polymer (SAP), claimed to be completely bio-based and biodegradable.
BAYSE is reportedly sourced from renewable resources, offering lower carbon emissions and biodegradable nature. The company expects BAYSE to replace conventional, petroleum-based SAP used in disposable hygiene products like diapers while addressing the problem of waste accumulation in landfills. It is also expected to offer an impact-free alternative in agriculture, cosmetics, water treatment, etc.
