Analyst QuickTake : First announced earlier this year , Samsung’s launch of its health monitoring devices, specifically its Galaxy Ring, will help disrupt the smart ring market, potentially wrestling away market share from competitor Ōura. Historically, Ōura has been extremely protective of its market share, going as far as to sue potential new entrants such as Ultrahuman, Circular, and RingConn, in some instances before they even entered the US market. However, just last month , Samsung countered this potential move by preemptively suing the company to prevent intellectual property disputes, the basis for Ōura’s previous lawsuits.
