Carbon Engineering expands R&D facilities in Squamish, Canada

Geographic expansion

  • Carbon Engineering, a Canadian direct air capture (DAC) and air-to-fuel (ATF) startup, has purchased 4.5 acres of land in the Business Park area of Squamish to build new DAC research and technology development facilities alongside its existing Innovation Centre in the oceanfront Squamish area.

  • The new site will include an enclosed warehouse for next-generation pilot technologies, an expanded lab, workshop, and offices and is expected to more than double the existing technology development space. The expansion aims to create an optimal environment for innovation and accommodate the company's growing team.

  • The expansion is part of Carbon Engineering’s commitment to invest in its team and technology in Canada following its acquisition by Oxy Low Carbon Ventures in 2023 .
