Ramen VR, the developer of the VR massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) Zenith, has announced the halt of new content development for the game given its lack of profitability.
The co-founders explained the decision in a YouTube video, stating that while they will keep the game's servers running for the foreseeable future, they will be shifting focus to new projects. They also mentioned that players who have purchased in-game currency, called zennies, will receive "valuable gifts" in a future title instead of refunds.
Analyst QuickTake: In a previous update, Ramen VR stated that it was operating at a loss throughout 2023. In a bid to revive game interest, the company introduced a free-to-play mode for Zenith in February 2024 ; however, its efforts were unsuccessful.
