44.01, an Omani carbon mineralization startup, has raised USD 37 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Equinor Ventures and Shorooq Partners. This brings the company's total funding to USD 43.2 million.
The proceeds will be used to develop and commercialize its carbon sequestration technology, focusing on international expansion.
Other investors included Air Liquide Venture Capital, Alumni Ventures, Amazon’s Climate Pledge Fund, Climate Investment, Innovation Development Oman, Planet A Ventures, Salica Oryx Fund, Siemens Financial Services, Sumitomo Corporation, and Breakthrough Energy Ventures.
