Eos Energy Enterprises, a Nasdaq-listed provider of zinc-based long-duration energy storage systems, has expanded its partnership with Indian Energy, a Native American-owned microgrid developer.
The partnership aims to expand an existing project for the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians, adding 25 MWh of Eos' battery energy storage systems (BESS) to the existing 35 MWh order, totaling 60 MWh. This expansion is Eos’ largest order funded by the California Energy Commission.
This BESS project aims to enhance grid resiliency and provide a sustainable energy solution for the Viejas Enterprise Microgrid in Alpine, California. The expanded project will utilize Eos' Gen 2.3 and new Z3 Cube systems.
Analyst QuickTake: This partnership follows Eos partnering with ACRO Automation Systems in July 2024 to launch its first state-of-the-art manufacturing line for commercially producing Eos Z3 batteries. The company claimed that this will increase production capacity to 1.25 GWh annually over the next six months.
