Supernal unveils S-A2 concept at 2024 Farnborough International Airshow

Product updates

  • Supernal LLC, the Hyundai eVTOL subsidiary, announced the public display of its S-A2 eVTOL concept at the biennial Farnborough International Airshow 2024. The S-A2, first unveiled in January 2024 , will be in Supernal's A025 chalet.

  • The S-A2 reportedly has a cruising speed of 120 mph at altitudes between 1,000 and 1,500 feet above ground level, and an initial range of ~60 mi to meet conventional city operation needs. The aircraft utilizes distributed electric propulsion and will operate quietly. The S-A2 is designed to achieve commercial aviation safety standards with an airframe structure that includes redundant components in critical systems, such as powertrain, flight controls, and avionics.

  • Supernal will commence prototype testing of S-A2 in 2025, before the company begins flying its full-scale technology demonstrator (FSTD). At the Farnborough Airshow, Supernal will host an industry panel in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
