HIF Global, a provider of sustainable e-fuels, has signed an MoU with Airbus to advance the development of e-Sustainable Aviation Fuel (e-SAF) via the methanol-to-jet fuel (MTJ) pathway.
The partnership focuses on four key areas: Technical, project development, commercial, and advocacy. It aims to accelerate the adoption of e-SAF in the aviation sector and facilitate the industry's transition to net-zero emissions.
HIF Global is designing e-SAF production facilities based on the MTJ pathway that can be deployed on existing aircraft without engine modifications.
Analyst QuickTake: This collaboration was announced on the heels of a USD 164 million investment led by Idemitsu Kosan, a Japanese energy company, to expand HIF Global's e-fuel projects in multiple locations, including the US, Australia, Chile, and Uruguay. Furthermore, the company announced agreements with Johnson Matthey and Honeywell UOP to conduct preliminary engineering for HIF's first SAF plant in the US.
