Vision Products delivers head-mounted display to US army for flight situational awareness

Product updates

  • Head-mounted display (HMD) manufacturer Vision Products delivered its first Army Aircrew Augmented Reality Optics and Display System HMD to the US Army. The HMD is designed to enhance situational awareness for rotorcraft pilots.

  • The HMD features high resolution, wide field of view, and full-color display. It is compatible with standard aviation helmets and aircraft, enhances performance in degraded visual environments, and can be integrated across existing and future platforms.

  • Vision Products claims the HMD will significantly improve mission safety and effectiveness in challenging visual conditions. The company is working toward a flight demonstration with the Army in the second half of 2024.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Vision Products has been working closely with the US Army to bolster its headsets for military applications. This includes the company’s April 2023 showcase of its SA-62/S HMD for Degraded Visual Environments (DVEs) at the 2023 Army Aviation Summit.
