Rocket Lab, a space travel and launch company, has launched its Electron vehicle from its New Zealand site, carrying one of Japanese company Synspective's Strix synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites to low-Earth orbit.
Electron deployed the Strix satellite into a circular orbit 337 mi above Earth ~57 minutes after lift-off. The mission was Rocket Lab's ninth launch in 2024 and its 51st mission overall.
The Electron mission was the fifth of 16 planned Electron launches in completing the construction of the Synspective constellation.
