Supernova launches defense and space unit for 3D printing energetic materials

Management news

  • Supernova, a provider of AM materials, has announced a new Defense & Space business unit to focus on 3D printing energetic materials for defense and space applications.

  • The new unit aims to address limitations in traditional manufacturing of applications like Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs) using Supernova's Viscous Lithography Manufacturing (VLM) 3D-printing process.

  • Supernova is a spin-off from BCN3D's Viscous Lithography Manufacturing (VLM) business unit. The company specializes in a breakthrough VLM technology, a lithography-based AM process that laminates thin layers of high-viscosity resins onto a transparent transfer film before photopolymerization of the resin into a 3D-printed object.
