Supernova, a provider of AM materials, has announced a new Defense & Space business unit to focus on 3D printing energetic materials for defense and space applications.
The new unit aims to address limitations in traditional manufacturing of applications like Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs) using Supernova's Viscous Lithography Manufacturing (VLM) 3D-printing process.
Supernova is a spin-off from BCN3D's Viscous Lithography Manufacturing (VLM) business unit. The company specializes in a breakthrough VLM technology, a lithography-based AM process that laminates thin layers of high-viscosity resins onto a transparent transfer film before photopolymerization of the resin into a 3D-printed object.
