Swiftly, a public transit data platform, has acquired Hopthru, a company specializing in ridership data and analytics, for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition will add Hopthru's ridership data and analytics capabilities to Swiftly's platform.
Hopthru provides transit agencies with ridership analytics for data-driven decision-making. Moreover, the company works with agencies such as San Diego's North County Transit District, the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority, and Prince George's County The Bus.
The acquisition aims to give transit agencies tools to access, clean, monitor, and analyze ridership data for National Transit Database (NTD) reporting, service planning, and scheduling. Through the acquisition, Swiftlys’ platform extends critical transit performance data for agencies to provide information on ridership through CAD/AVL vendor, a stand-alone APC system, or Swiftly's APC Connector.
