Optibus acquires Datik for undisclosed sum to expand public transportation optimization capabilities

M&A

  • Optibus, a mobility planning and management platform specializing in urban bus transport, has acquired Datik, a provider of real-time visibility and operational efficiency for public transportation providers, for an undisclosed sum.

  • Datik's technology improves real-time visibility and operational efficiency for public transportation providers for safer and more reliable passenger service.

  • The acquisition is expected to drive Datik's growth while creating product synergies around data, optimization, and cloud computing. Additionally, it will advance real-time insights, improve operational agility, and enhance driver and passenger experiences in public transportation.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Optibus's strategy of inorganic growth is not new. In April 2022, the company also acquired Trillium, a SaaS provider helping transit operators and agencies keep riders informed, to diversify its service offering by integrating Trillium's data-centric products and services.
