Snap introduced Easy Lens, a new GenAI-powered feature in its Lens Studio developer platform. The tool allows creators to generate Snapchat Lenses (AR effects) via text prompts.

Easy Lens uses GenAI models to interpret text descriptions and automatically creates Lenses using Lens Studio components. Other generative tools launched include 1) Body Morph, which creates 3D characters and costumes from text or a reference image; 2) an image generator for Lens icons; and new animation features for Bitmoji.

Snap plans to enhance Lens Studio with more GenAI features, including a custom animation generator and a tool allowing creators to upload a video of an object for conversion into a 3D asset.

Analyst QuickTake: Snap has leaned heavily toward enhancing Snapchat with GenAI features. In June 2024 , the company previewed an early version of its real-time, on-device image diffusion model to generate AR experiences, alongside other GenAI AR tools for advertisers ( May 2024 ).
