Beam Global, a Nasdaq-listed EV charging infrastructure and battery storage provider, has launched BeamSpot, a curbside EV-charging product line. The system integrates with existing streetlight infrastructure and is designed for public use in areas where traditional EV charging installation is challenging.
BeamSpot replaces existing streetlights with a product that combines solar, wind, and utility-generated electricity into proprietary integrated batteries. As such, it provides curbside EV charging without requiring new or upgraded utility grid circuits or complex infrastructure modifications.
Beam Global claims that BeamSpot can reduce the time, cost, and complexity of expanding EV charging infrastructure while lowering utility costs, increasing resiliency, and balancing the grid.
