Dufour Aerospace, a Swiss drone and eVTOL company, has renewed its partnership with Areion, a US drone pioneer formerly known as "Spright."
The partnership includes Areion's commitment to purchase 40 Aero2 drone aircraft with options for an additional 100 aircraft. The Aero2 drone, which will soon enter pre-series production and be delivered commercially in 2026, will be used for critical goods transport and other logistical applications. The partnership aims to expand Dufour Aerospace's footprint in the US.
The renewed partnership was announced at the UP.Summit in Bentonville, Arkansas, where Dufour Aerospace's Aero2 drone was displayed with Areion livery.
Analyst QuickTake: Dufour Aerospace has been building its efforts toward the commercialization of its Aero2 eVTOL aircraft since 2023. In October 2023 , the company partnered with Air Energy to supply battery modules for the Aero2. In August 2024 , Dufour completed the first hover test flight of the Aero2. Along with this partnership with Areion, Dufour Aerospace also has a purchase order of 11 Aero2 aircraft units from European Medical Drone .
