Dufour Aerospace and Areion renew partnership for Aero2 drone purchase

Partnerships

  • Dufour Aerospace, a Swiss drone and eVTOL company, has renewed its partnership with Areion, a US drone pioneer formerly known as "Spright."

  • The partnership includes Areion's commitment to purchase 40 Aero2 drone aircraft with options for an additional 100 aircraft. The Aero2 drone, which will soon enter pre-series production and be delivered commercially in 2026, will be used for critical goods transport and other logistical applications. The partnership aims to expand Dufour Aerospace's footprint in the US.

  • The renewed partnership was announced at the UP.Summit in Bentonville, Arkansas, where Dufour Aerospace's Aero2 drone was displayed with Areion livery.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Dufour Aerospace has been building its efforts toward the commercialization of its Aero2 eVTOL aircraft since 2023. In October 2023 , the company partnered with Air Energy to supply battery modules for the Aero2. In August 2024 , Dufour completed the first hover test flight of the Aero2. Along with this partnership with Areion, Dufour Aerospace also has a purchase order of 11 Aero2 aircraft units from European Medical Drone .
