Entertainment-focused holding company Infinite Reality has acquired UK-based XR content developer Zappar for USD 45 million.
With this acquisition, Infinite Reality aims to expand its product portfolio, incorporating Zappar's technology suite and leveraging its partnerships with global brands such as LEGOLAND, Nestlé, Unilever, and Disney.
Zappar provides developers with tools to create immersive web-based 3D AR experiences for various devices without being limited by operating systems. The company offers a range of products, including Zapworks, Mattercraft, Designer, Zapbox, and Zapvision.
Analyst QuickTake: This marks Infinite Reality's sixth acquisition in 2024, having previously acquired Ethereal Engine ( March 2024 ), a firm developing frameworks for social immersive experiences on the web. Notably, the company raised USD 350 million in July 2024 , valuing the company at USD 5.1 billion.
