Zoom has launched AI Companion 2.0, an AI assistant integrated into Zoom Workplace. The tool is available at no additional cost with paid Zoom services and can be accessed through a side panel within the Zoom Workplace interface.
AI Companion 2.0 features expanded context understanding, information synthesis across Zoom Workplace applications (Meetings, Team Chat, Docs, Mail), and integration with Microsoft Outlook, Google Calendar, and Gmail. The tool can answer meeting-related questions, summarize conversations, generate content, and provide document summaries.
Zoom claims AI Companion 2.0 helps users save time by surfacing important information, prioritizing tasks, and converting interactions into actions. Built on Zoom's federated approach, it maintains security and privacy by not using customer content to train AI models.
