Orca Computing launches GenAI-powered PT-2 quantum computer system

Product updates

  • UK-based quantum hardware company ORCA Computing has launched PT-2, its latest photonic quantum computing system with GenAI capabilities. The system integrates with the NVIDIA CUDA-Q development platform and builds upon its predecessor PT-1, currently deployed at seven sites.

  • The PT-2 combines photonic quantum computing with GPU processing, enables quantum-enhanced machine learning, and can be integrated with GenAI models. The system is designed to work seamlessly with high-performance computing infrastructures. It features a modular optical fiber architecture with proprietary methods for manipulating time, frequency, and switching of single photons.

  • According to Hyperion Research, the PT-2 helps address critical challenges in GenAI, including power consumption, model cost, and quality. The system is already being used in various industries, including manufacturing, energy, and pharmaceuticals, for tasks such as chemical formulation and vaccine development through quantum-enhanced GenAI. Orca Computing states that users can adopt this technology without major additional investments and upgrade their systems as new quantum technologies emerge.
