Molecular farming startup PoLoPo has partnered with global ingredient tech company CSM Ingredients to develop egg protein powder from potatoes for commercial baking applications.
The collaboration aims to optimize PoLoPo's ovalbumin powder for commercial baking properties including foaming, gelation, and water-binding functions. PoLoPo will also join CSM's Generate incubator program, gaining access to R&D expertise, market entry support, and business networks.
Analyst QuickTake: This collaboration follows PoLoPo's unveiling of its SuperAA molecular farming platform, which produces its ovalbumin and patanin alternative proteins. Furthermore, the company recently applied for a Regulatory Status Review (RSR) from the US Department of Agriculture's Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service for this platform.
