Xenia Materials launches four high-performance FDM filaments

Product updates

  • Xenia Materials, a provider of thermoplastic composites for additive manufacturing (AM), has announced the launch of four new high-performance filaments for Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) at Formnext 2024, a German AM expo.

  • The new filament lineup includes XECARB SL 3DF (a PA11-based composite with 15% carbon fiber), XELIGHT 3DF (an ultralight PEBA filament), XECARB 45 3DF (a PVDF composition with 10% carbon fiber), and XEGREEN 23 3DF (a recycled PETG-based composite with 20% carbon fiber). Each filament is designed for specific industrial applications requiring structural integrity and sustainability.

  • The company states that these filaments offer various benefits, including lightweight design, high chemical resistance, structural strength, and environmental sustainability. The materials are suitable for rapid prototyping, composite tooling, and precision parts production across multiple sectors, including aerospace, automotive, and construction.

  • Analyst Quicktake: The ongoing Formnext expo has seen many AM product releases over the last month. Xenia Materials offers a similar product to Henkel , which unveiled Loctite 3D IND6845 , a thermoplastic polyurethane designed for industrial applications, at the expo last week. Notably, this is Xenia's second major product launch this year since it introduced XEGREEN 23-C20-3DP , a new carbon fiber-based material for large-format AM, in February.
