Starship Technologies expands partnership with Co-op to start delivery services in Northampton, UK

  • Starship Technologies, an autonomous delivery droid maker, has expanded its partnership with Co-Op, a convenience store chain in the UK, to include deliveries in Northampton, the second town in the UK.

  • Starship droids will serve approximately 5,000 households within a three miles radius of Co-op’s Wootton Fields store. Customers can place orders from a range of more than 1,000 items available at the store via the Starship app.

  • Co-op plans to extend the partnership further to include more towns, with the objective of using 300 Starship droids by the end of 2021.

  • In 2018, Starship Technologies launched its commercial delivery service in Milton Keynes, UK, in partnership with Tesco and Co-op Food. The service later expanded to include deliveries by plant-based milk producer Plenish, while coverage expanded to more than 15 estates in Milton Keynes by September 2020.
