NIO, an NYSE-listed Chinese EV manufacturer, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Green Car to launch operations in Azerbaijan, marking its entry into a new international market.
The expansion will enable Nio to provide its smart EV products and services to the Azerbaijani market, with product deliveries expected to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
NIO has also partnered with Avatr Technology, an EV arm of Changan Automobile, to access NIO's charging network infrastructure in China, becoming the 14th brand to join the network.
Through the Avatr app, Avatr owners can now access Nio Power's extensive charging infrastructure, which includes 2,442 supercharging stations with 11,206 charging piles and 1,660 destination charging stations with 12,887 charging piles across China.
Analyst QuickTake: This partnership follows a previous agreement between Changan and Nio in November 2023 to collaborate on battery swap standards, network sharing, and battery asset management. Major automotive brands such as Chery, Dongfeng M-Hero, Huawei HIMA, FAW Hongqi, and GAC Energy have also joined NIO’s charging network. In October 2024 , NIO also formed a joint venture with CYVN Holdings to expand into the Middle East and North Africa markets.
