Rocket Lab, a space launch company, has completed two Electron rocket launches from two hemispheres—Virginia, USA, and New Zealand—marking the company's fastest turnaround time of 21 hours and 55 minutes between missions.
The first mission was a suborbital hypersonic accelerator suborbital test electron (HASTE) launch from Virginia, while the second, titled "Ice AIS Baby," deployed five satellites for French IoT company Kinéis into low-Earth orbit at an altitude of 643 km.
This marks Rocket Lab’s 14th mission of the year and 56th overall, and it has now deployed 203 satellites. The "Ice AIS Baby" mission, the third of five planned Electron launches for Kinéis, contributes to Kinéis’ global IoT network, enabling near-real-time data transmission for applications like environmental monitoring and logistics.
