Mural, an online visual collaboration platform, has raised USD 50 million in Series C funding that values the company at more than USD 2 billion. This is roughly 4x its previous valuation in August 2020 (USD 118 million, Series B). The Series C round was co-led by existing investors Insight Partners and Tiger Global.
The round brings the total funding to approximately USD 200 million. The fresh funds are expected to be allocated toward platform development, including pipeline integrations with Microsoft Teams, Zoom Video Communications Inc., Webex by Cisco, and Atlassian. Furthermore, hiring and expanding the go-to-market efforts are also part of the plans for the new funds.
The jump in valuation is most likely due to Mural’s impressive growth as it revealed that annual recurring revenue tripled over the past 12 months.
Founded in 2011, Mural is a remote collaboration platform for workplace teams. The platform emphasizes visual collaboration for problem-solving. Mural provides templates for evaluating, strategizing, and brainstorming for project kick-offs, and its clients include 75% of the Fortune 100 companies.
