SmartHop, an online freight matching platform, has partnered with DAT Freight & Analytics, an operator of a truckload freight marketplace in North America, to offer more load opportunities to SmartHop’s freight carriers, especially independent drivers and small carriers.
DAT will integrate its application programming interface (API) with SmartHop’s platform to streamline freight matching for SmartHop’s customers, helping drivers access better-paying loads and compete with larger carriers for spot truckload freight. DAT’s network generally hosts more than 880,000 load postings a day and has more than 1.5 million registered trucks and 100,000 carriers.
SmartHop operates an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered freight matching platform for owner-operators, small fleets, and brokers. Carriers can enter the location, upon which the platform will identify nearby loads available based on profit potential. The company partners with brokers and shippers to bring the loads to the platform. In addition, SmartHop offers back-office services such as fuel at discounted rates, leasing, load factoring, and insurance. On average, the company helps book more than 1,200 loads per month for its users.
