The Spanish food delivery platform Glovo launched Glovo Concepts, a suite of virtual food brands designed by Glovo and operated by restaurant partners.
Glovo offers a turnkey solution, with Glovo Concepts providing the brand name, menu, ingredients, recipes, and marketing materials, while restaurants can operate a brand with their existing staff and facilities. The company has deployed Glovo Concepts to more than 300 restaurants across Spain and Italy, with plans to expand to more than 1,000 restaurants across Romania, Georgia, Croatia, Portugal, and Poland by the end of 2021. Glovo also intends to provide access to virtual brands in all of its markets by 2022.
Restaurants have no joining fees but are subject to 22%-30% commission charges from Glovo. Currently, Glovo has created eight virtual brands, including Bendito Burrito, The Urban Kebab, Meraki Pita, Taqueria Guadalupe, and Milanesa House.
Founded in 2015, Glovo operates in markets across Central America, South America, Europe, and Africa, with headquarters in Barcelona. The platform has served more than 12 million orders globally and recorded a growth rate of over 300% YoY in 2020. Glovo operates in 23 countries as of February 2021.
