Nanotech Energy, a developer of graphene-based batteries, raised USD 64 million in a Series D funding round led by Fubon Financial Holdings (a Taiwanese financial services business).
The round brings Nanotech’s total funding to USD 94.9 million.
New funds will be deployed to build a new graphene battery manufacturing facility in Reno, Nevada, which is expected to operate from the second half of 2022. The company also plans to open up an European headquarters in Amsterdam. Further plans involve increasing the current capacity for graphene, graphene-based conductive inks, adhesives, shielding and silver nanowires at its facility in California.
