Genomatica partners with Lululemon to supply its Bio-Nylon material

Product updates
Partnerships

  • Genomatica, a US biotech manufacturer of chemicals and materials, has signed a multi-year agreement with the Canadian athletic apparel retailer Lululemon, to introduce Bio-Nylon (Genomatica’s bio-based fiber which can be used in clothing and carpets) into the latter’s products.

  • This partnership is considered to be Genomatica’s largest partnership with a retailer to date and is Lululemon’s first equity investment in a sustainable materials company.

  • Lululemon believes that this partnership will support them in reaching their “Impact Agenda” goals, set in October in 2020, to produce 100% of their products with sustainable materials and end-of-use solutions by 2030.
