Volta Trucks, a developer of fully electric trucks, has raised EUR 37 million (USD 43.7 million) in a Series B funding round led by Luxor Capital with participation from investors including Proterra and Agility. This brings the company's total funds raised to around USD 70 million.
The company intends to utilize funds to deploy a pilot fleet of trucks for customers in Paris and London, launch for customer evaluations by mid-2022, and start full-scale production by end 2022.
Currently, Volta Trucks has 2,500 truck preorders translating into more than EUR 600 million (roughly USD 700 million) in revenue—doubling the numbers over the past three months.
