• Connected smart mirror developer Tempo has introduced “Tempo Move,” a cheaper modular home gym solution that can be connected with iPhones and home TVs for a connected fitness experience.

• Tempo Move consists of a two-foot-high storage container that comes with 50 lbs of weight plates and dumbbells (additional weights can be purchased separately). Users can plug in their iPhone to a removable circular unit dubbed “Core,” which is available on the top of the container. Core can be connected to a TV to display workout classes, replacing the touchscreen in its current “Tempo Studio”.

• It uses technology in the iPhone to count reps and provide form feedback during workouts. This eliminates the need to use the LiDAR, AI in the Tempo Move itself, unlike its original Tempo Studio.

• Users can access live and on-demand workout content including strength, yoga, meditation, cardio, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) exercises at its usual subscription fee of USD 39 a month.

• Tempo Move is now available for pre-order at an introductory price of USD 395 (will eventually be priced at USD 495)—substantially less than the starting price of Tempo Studio (USD 2,495). The company plans to start shipping the products in early December.
