Laminar, a cloud-native data security startup, has raised USD 32 million in a Series A funding round led by Insight Partners and included participation from SentinelOne, TLV Partners, and Meron Capital. Laminar’s total funding stands at USD 37 million.
The company will utilize the funds to build out its engineering and go-to-market teams, and establish a new data security research team.

Analyst QuickTake: The investment in Laminar is the fifth by Insight Partners in the next-gen cybersecurity industry since September 2021. Before this, the company led the rounds of cloud security platforms Wiz , Adaptive Shield , and DeepFactor and participated in network detection and response (NDR) startup Corelight’s Series D round. The investment in Laminar also aligns with one of the planned utilization of SentinelOne’s IPO proceeds of USD 100 million raised in June this year to invest in complementary businesses and technologies. SentinelOne sees Laminar’s technology to work as a complement with its Singularity XDR platform, and provide customers with cloud-native data security. In recent months, SentinelOne has also partnered with several other disruptors including Red Canary , Zscaler , and BlueVoyant in the cybersecurity space to enhance its Singularity XDR platform.
