Bloom Energy, a next-generation solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) company, and Heliogen, a concentrated solar energy startup, announced the launch of a demonstration facility to produce low-cost green hydrogen.
The demonstration facility held at Heliogen’s facility in Lancaster, California integrates Heliogen’s Sunlight Refinery Technology with Bloom Energy’s electrolyzers.
The combined technology can produce hydrogen 45% more efficiently, compared to low-temperature proton exchange membrane (PEM) and alkaline electrolyzers.
