Group14 Technologies and StoreDot partner to improve electric vehicle battery tech

Partnerships

  • Group14 Technologies, the largest manufacturer of lithium-silicon battery materials, has partnered with StoreDot, an Israeli next-generation battery startup, to advance StoreDot’s extreme fast charging (XFC) battery technology for electric vehicles.

  • Through the collaboration, Group14’s lithium-silicon technology will be integrated into Storedot’s XFC lithium-silicon battery cells. This is expected to increase the performance of StoreDot’s battery technology. Current results indicate an energy density of 300 watt-hours per kilogram with over 700 cycles, capable of charging 0%–80% in 10 minutes.

  • For StoreDot, the collaboration also means accelerating the commercialization of its technology.

  • In a broader sense, given that the technology overcomes range and charging concerns, it will also speed up electric vehicles usage.
