Sinai Technologies, a platform that digitalizes and automates carbon footprint measurement, has announced a collaboration with a list of Brazilian companies across different industries to collect, calculate, forecast, and leverage primary emissions data across global supply chains to reduce carbon footprint.
Some of the companies on the list include BRF (food company), Raizen (energy provider), Rumo (railway operator), and AMAGGI (grain, and fiber company).
Via the collaboration, emission data across multiple industries, including agriculture, logistics, seed processing, feed, and food production, in Brazilian markets will be collected. The data gathered from Brazil will then be administered to global markets using Sinai’s digitized decarbonization platform. From a customer-centric point, this would, for instance, show the potential for carbon-free food product purchases from supermarkets.
The collaboration is the first-mover in the industry with a shared goal to decarbonize supply chain operations. The initial focus is on the agricultural industry and eventually plans to roll out across all global supply chains.
The company also notes that primary emissions data gathered will be audited by third parties to ensure a high level of accuracy and transparency. Additionally, the allocation methodologies and calculations built to Sinai’s platform will be validated.
