Food Cycle Science partners with Bonfield Municipality, Canada; provides food waste solution to households

Partnerships

  • Food Cycle Science, a Canadian company offering a food waste into soil converter, has partnered with the Bonfield Municipality, Canada, to provide Bonfield households with its food waste reduction solution—the FoodCycler.

  • FoodCycler is a small box-like appliance that converts food scraps into soil, which can then be used in gardening or be pelletized for home heating purposes.

  • The Bonfield Municipality would initially purchase 36 FoodCyclers for USD 5,400 (after receiving a discount of USD 7,200) and expect to receive the units toward the end of December 2021.

  • Residents who are interested in taking part in the Bonfield Municipality food waste program can buy these units from the Municipality. The Municipality plans to conduct a trial program for 12 weeks, requesting residents who purchase these units to track their FoodCycler’s weekly performance. The data collected will be used to monitor the level of food waste reduction and also be given to Food Cycle Science to further its R&
