Amazon Web Services launches ‘SageMaker Canvas’, a no-code ML-based predictive model builder

Product updates

  • AWS launched “Amazon SageMaker Canvas” (Canvas), a no-code predictive model building tool based on “Amazon SageMaker,” the company’s machine learning service. This tool enables users to clean and combine data automatically from both cloud and on-premises data sources and create models and generate individual or batch predictions. Once the models are built, users can analyze, interpret, and share the models to collaborate and support insights.

  • Canvas supports several use cases, such as fraud detection, churn reduction, and inventory optimization, as well as multiple problem types including binary classification, multi-class classification, numerical regression, and time series forecasting.

  • Amazon entered the no-code industry in June 2020 with the launch of Honeycode, a no-code development platform that enables companies to build mobile and web applications. The platform is designed around a spreadsheet format and allows users to add different fields and functionality as well as to link to the AWS database. AWS will allow users to share applications with up to 20 others under the free version. Earlier in April 2020, AWS launched another no-code integration service that allows users to create bidirectional data flows between AWS and third-party software-as-a-service (SaaS) applications.
