BEYON Money, the digital financial app launched by Batelco Financial Services (FinTech arm of Bahraini digital solutions and telecommunications provider Batelco), has partnered with i2c, a payment and banking FinTech infrastructure provider, to roll out a digital wallet in Bahrain.
The digital wallet, backed by an open banking license issued by the country’s central bank (first of its kind), handles retail, bill, and peer-to-peer payments for users; connects to bank accounts via open banking; offers financial insights; and provides digital remittances.
BEYON Money also plans to obtain card issuing and processing functionality through i2c’s infrastructure and launch a digital-first debit program to the market (while also giving users the option of a physical card) using Visa’s network infrastructure.

Analyst QuickTake: BEYON Money’s plans to launch card solutions through Visa’s network, benefits from i2c’s Fintech Fast Track certification from Visa. I2c has played a key role in the program and became the only enablement partner active in all of the program’s four regions (the US, Canada, MENA, and Asia Pacific), earlier this year.
