Heliogen, a concentrated solar energy company, has announced the finalization of a USD 39 million award from the US Department of Energy (DOE) to deploy the company’s AI-enabled concentrated solar technology in California.
The company will utilize the funds to develop a commercial-scale facility to leverage its unique technology. The DOE funds will develop a supercritical carbon dioxide (sCO2) power cycle that operates using Heliogen’s concentrated solar thermal energy.
