GRID, developer of the no-code video game creation platform “Breshna,” raised USD 1.3 million in seed funding led by 11 Tribes Ventures and Blockchain Founders Fund with participation from Zell Capital, Realist Ventures, Formless Capital, and Mask Network. The round also included a Republic equity crowdfunding raise of close to USD 200,000 from 327 investors.
The funds will be used for product development, growing the company’s employee base, and expanding its reach.
Breshna enables users to create educational, marketing, training, and social video games. The platform also includes NFT and web3 capabilities for users to build, own, share, and monetize their video games. As of January 2022, Breshna had 1,100 registered users and over 3,000 video games made on the platform.
<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake : GRID is the second no-code video game creation platform to raise funding within the last week, along with Yahaha Studios raising USD 50 million in funding on Wednesday. While both companies provide web3 related offerings, GRID (being comparatively smaller with this round being its only external fundraise) differentiates itself by offering NFT video game creation capabilities that allow users to own and monetize their games directly on the platform.</ul>
