Imperfect Foods engages in upcycling via collaboration with New Belgium Brewing

Partnerships

  • Imperfect Foods, an online grocery delivery platform dedicated to reducing food waste, has announced the launch of “Citrus Rescue India Pale Ale (IPA),” a type of beer brewed with imperfect oranges in partnership with New Belgium Brewing (a Colorado-based beverage company).

  • The beer is brewed with oranges that have scars and blemishes, sourced from Imperfect Foods’ farmer supply chain. New Belgium Brewing has used approximately 35,000 imperfect oranges to produce its “Citrus Rescue IPA” beer product, which is now available for purchase in selected retail stores nationwide.

  • The collaboration aims to increase the awareness of beer drinkers on food waste and cater to the two companies’ commitment to solving the problem of food waste.
