Tink, an open banking infrastructure provider, is launching its income verification tool, “Income Check,” in the UK, following its rollout in Sweden, Finland, Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.
This tool enables banks and lenders to verify a person’s income instantly by accessing a customer's bank account, with their consent, to analyze and categorize incoming transactions over a preceding 12 month period (which would include gig economy and employed salary income).
Analyst QuickTake: Tink’s open banking platform is currently available in 18 markets, including the UK, and this is not the first initiative taken by the company to expand its presence in the country. In September 2020, the company acquired British open banking solution provider OpenWrks, to increase its connectivity to financial institutions in the UK and open up access to business account data.
