Origin Materials partners with Minafin to produce carbon-negative chemicals on industrial scale

Partnerships

  • Origin Materials, a carbon-negative material manufacturer, has entered into a partnership with Minafin Group, a French specialty chemicals company, to produce high-value, bio-based chemicals on an industrial scale.

  • Origin Materials will integrate its technology with Minafin Group’s technology, expertise, and know-how. The partnership will focus on producing products that are cost-competitive with applications in the pharmaceutical, agricultural, cosmetics, and personal care industries.

  • According to the agreement, Origin Materials will also collaborate with Pennakem and EcoXtract, two business units of the Green Chemistry Division of Minafin Group that focus on the production of sustainable chemicals. Origin Materials will support Pennakem in developing technology to expand the latter’s product range and market.

  • Additionally, EcoXtract is in discussions to use Origin Materials’ carbon-negative products in commercializing the former’s technology. EcoXtract produces plant oils with applications in food and cosmetics using a proprietary extraction process.
