Dialpad, a B2B VoIP communications company, announced its acquisition of video conferencing software and hardware provider HighFive.
High Five was founded in 2012 by former Google employee Shan Sinha, who has a long history in enterprise collaboration software, having founded DocVerse, which eventually became Google Docs, and having spent time as a product manager on G Suite’s predecessor, Google Apps for Enterprise.
HighFive’s video conferencing software is compatible with Android and iOS, and other conference equipment and hardware. It specializes in providing HD conferencing for both web and mobile apps. Before its acquisition, the company had raised USD 77 million to date (most recently a USD 32 million Series C in 2018).
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but the acquisition allows Dialpad, whose current focus is on cloud-based audio communications and contact center solutions, to expand its video communications by leveraging HighFive’s meeting room hardware and software technology.
