First Light Fusion, a British fusion energy startup, raised USD 45 million in a Series C funding round, bringing the company’s total funding to USD 107 million.
New investors Braavos Capital and Tencent and existing investors Oxford Science Enterprises, Hostplus, and IP Group participated in the round.
The proceeds will be used to accelerate the development of First Light’s “gain” experiment, where the amount of energy created exceeds the amount of energy consumed to spark the reaction, as well as to further design and engineering for a commercial fusion energy power plant.
