Mycorena secures EUR 24 million in Series A funding

Funding

  • Mycorena, a mycoprotein producer based in Sweden, has raised EUR 24 million (~USD 28.8 million), marking the biggest Nordic Series A funding round in the alternative protein segment to date. Although investor names were not disclosed, the round included new investors as well as existing investors who have doubled down, pushing the total funding to date beyond EUR 35 million (~USD 38.8 million).

  • The funds will be primarily used for commercialisation of its mycoprotein product “Promyc'', from a demonstration-scale innovation to a commercialized high-value product, through investments in innovation and the construction of its Promyc Production Plant, set to be operational in 2023.
