DoorDash, the US market leader in online food delivery, announced that it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Bbot, a contactless ordering and payment solution provider, for an undisclosed amount. The deal is expected to close in Q1 2022.
The acquisition allows DoorDash to expand its in-store operations product suite for merchants, including in-store digital ordering and payments. Bbot’s proprietary technology will be integrated with DoorDash's suite of first-party platform services, featuring its commission-free online ordering platform DoorDash Storefront. Upon closing this deal, Bbot’s services will be available to DoorDash merchants at no monthly subscription fee until August 2022. Thereafter, it will cost USD 49 per month.
Bbot’s platform features a QR code scanner, an online ordering system, and a real-time interface. Its ordering solution integrates with a merchant’s existing technology integrations, such as POS systems, loyalty programs, and reservation services, and operates on handheld devices.
